The Minnesota Vikings came into Week 11 burning hot. However, the Denver Broncos were clearly looking to cool them off.

In fact, the Broncos were winning 20-0 at the half. The Vikings surged back though, and ended up winning 27-23 in an absolute nail-biter.

After the game, star quarterback Kirk Cousins spoke out about the “emotional” win. Lindsey Young of Vikings.com had the story.

“Some people call it boring. I call it being smart, being the CEO, and just staying the course,” Cousins said. “I think we all want to be that as best we can. It’s an emotional game. I think some positions can be more emotional than the quarterback.”

Cousins definitely is not known as the most outspoken and crazy of characters. So it shouldn't be much of a surprise that he did not let a massive deficit shake his confidence.

The Vikings have been one of the best teams in the NFL. After a slow start for Cousins and the team (2-2), they rattled off four straight wins. After a loss in Week 9, they've won two straight once again. That moves Minnesota to 8-3 on the year.

It's easy to get emotional about the game when you start pouring in wins like this. Especially when they are extremely stressful ones like they had in Week 11.

Cousins hit the viral mark with his “You like that” shout back when he was with the Washington Redskins. However, that was sort of an anomaly. The quarterback did not exactly make waves on the internet after that.

Cousins is much more of a “let my play do the talking” type of guy. It's work out well for him so far, and this might be his best year to date. With an 8-3 record, it looks like he might enjoy the best team success of his career too.

Week 11 was a test for Cousins and the Vikings. He did not get rattled when his team was down, and that's a major step forward in his game.
