The Minnesota Vikings haven't been strangers to headlines this season. Most of them have stemmed from Kirk Cousins.

Their quarterback has been at the heart of a lot of their issues. However, things might be turning around.

Cousins and the Minnesota offense looked to be at their best in Week 5. They helped lead them to a victory and push the team to 3-2 on the year.

Now they have a Week 6 date with the 3-2 Philadelphia Eagles. While this should be a tough game, the Vikings might be in the best place they've been in all year. That gives them a very good chance in this game.

Speaking on his own podcast, Under Center with Kirk Cousins, Cousins talked about his game and how he feels he plays better when “I have an edge to me.”

If that's what he had in Week 5, it's hard to argue with him.

To say Cousins looked “bad” through the first four weeks of the season might be speaking nicely. He wasn't hitting on his deep throws at all, and that's just the few times he even attempted them. Meanwhile, the coaching staff seemed not to trust him too much, and the wide receivers were openly expressing their displeasure.

Week 5 saw Cousins complete a season-high 81.5% of his passes. He did so for season-highs of 306 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, the 11.3 yards per attempt was a season-best as well.

Something clicked for Cousins in Week 5. Maybe he was playing with that edge that he was talking about.

If that's what it is, every Minnesota fan in the world is probably hoping he keeps that edge for the rest of the season.
