The Minnesota Vikings were mocked by some after trading a first-round draft pick as well as a fourth rounder for Sam Bradford. The entire story is yet to be written, but the first chapter of Bradford's career in Minnesota has been positive.

After sitting out Week 1 while still learning the offense, Bradford shined in a big victory over the rival Green Bay Packers, completing 71 percent of his passes for nearly 300 yards and two touchdowns.

Whether he can replicate that kind of performance throughout the season is still to be seen. For now, the Vikings believe he's just the guy they need.

They have one of the best defenses in the NFL, but losing Teddy Bridgewater and Adrian Peterson has hampered expectations for the offense, at least from the outside.

Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner thinks they're in great shape with Bradford. From Sid Hartman of the Star Tribune:

“Very impressed,” Turner said. “He’s everything you look for in a quarterback. I think he’s a great passer, and I think he makes great decisions. That combination is what you need in a good quarterback. He can change his delivery, and he can speed up when he needs to.

“He’s got great presence in the pocket. I coached a guy like that for six years in [San Diego’s] Philip Rivers. They play the game differently. They get rid of the ball quick, and they have great pocket presence.”
