San Francisco, CA – Heading into this season, the Golden State Warriors missed the playoffs two consecutive seasons. One season they were at the bottom of the conference, and the second, they barely missed qualifying for the postseason. The two campaigns gave them three lottery picks which usually provides a team with hope for the future.
Something good in the future was what many expected looking at the roster this season on paper. No Klay Thompson, no James Wiseman, and they had concerns about the backup point guard position. After beating the Miami Heat with Stephen Curry only scoring 9 points on Monday, Draymond shared how he felt about the team at the beginning of the season.
“I must be 100% honest with you. I didn’t know we’d be this good. I think we are a damn good team, and I didn’t think we would be this good and especially this fast,” Warriors veteran Draymond Green told ClutchPoints.

It’s January, and the Warriors hold the best record in the NBA without Thompson or Wiseman in the lineup. Their success early has fans dreaming and hoping for a championship.

“This is a marathon. It’s not a sprint,” Warriors star Draymond Green said. “It’s not the first team to 30 wins or anything like that. It’s who can consistently get better night in and night out, day in and day out. So in April, May and June come around, you put yourself in the best position to win a championship, and I truly, in my heart, believe we’re doing that.”
