Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury is in his 18th year in the NHL, having been serving between the net for nearly two decades. After joining the Wild at the trade deadline, it was widely expected that this would be Fleury's final go-around in the league. That may not be the case, however. According to Allan Walsh, the 37-year-old Wild goalie revealed that he wants to play another season in the league and is not quite ready to call it a career.

“I would like to play at least another season. I decided that recently, I still love to play, I still have fun. My body holds up… most of the time,” said Fleury. “But yes, another season and then after we will see.”

It's quite a surprising declaration from Fleury, but it makes sense that he's still willing to go for another stint in the NHL beyond this season with the Wild. While he may not be able to take on the full workload of a starting goalie, he'd be a quality backup that could improve any team in the league. There would certainly be teams who would at least consider him to be their No. 1 goalie, too, though they may need a stable backup in place. The Wild certainly felt he'd be an upgrade for them this season, and he's been solid since joining the team.

This season, Fleury has featured in 52 games for the Blackhawks and Wild. In total, he's recorded a .910 save percentage with 1,479 saves and an average of 2.9 goals surrendered per game. Those aren't world-beating numbers, but they're definitely serviceable, and he feels as if his body is capable of handling the grind of another season.
