Despite being limited to just 24 total games over the past three WNBA seasons due to injury (torn ACL and meniscus in 2021 preseason) and the global pandemic (2020), there was a pretty decent free-agent market for five-time WNBA all-star, Angel McCoughtry. After spending the first ten years of her career on the Atlanta Dream, McCoughtry spent the last two years with the Las Vegas Aces. That didn't end with a ring and now she is on to a third team in four years and it is...

The Minnesota Lynx!

According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, McCoughtry is set to come to the land of 1,000 lakes in search of her first WNBA championship and the fifth for Minnesota.

McCoughtry joins a team that includes WNBA legend Sylvia Fowles and star player Napheesa Collier. Collier will miss the beginning of the WNBA season due to the birth of her child and McCoughtry can play the forward position until she returns. Once the dynamic trio is back up and running it is going to be fun for Lynx fans and terrifying for the rest of the league.

McCoughtry has been to the finals four times, most recently in 2021, but has yet to come away with the ultimate prize. That is pretty much the only thing that she has yet to accomplish in the league, though. The 35-year-old has already been a WNBA All-Star five times (2011, 2013-2015, 2018), an All-WNBA first-team member twice (2011, 2015), a second-team member four times (2010, 2013, 2014, 2016), a seven-time WNBA All-Defense team member (2010-2016), Rookie of the year (2009), two-time scoring champion (2012, 2013), WNBA 25th anniversary team member (2021), and two-time Olympic gold medalist (2012, 2016).
