Jaemyn Brakefield, a five-star forward prospect out of the 2020 college basketball recruiting class, has committed to play for the Duke Blue Devils. This comes only a few hours after Coach K and company even offered the young man a scholarship.

The youngster relayed the news to the masses on the mean streets of Twitter himself with a nifty little post:

Most reputable recruiting service outlets not only have Jaemyn Brakefield pegged as a five-star caliber recruit. Furthermore, most tend to agree he’s one of the 20 (or so) best prospects in the entire 2020 recruiting class.

It's worth noting some outlets are slightly lower on him, as 247Sports considers him a higher end four-star, slotting him as the 38th best player in his class.

Furthermore, this is continued evidence of Coach K trying something slightly different on the recruiting trail. While the young man falls between the four/five-star status, he's not exactly viewed as a one-and-done type, lending credence to the idea the legendary coach is looking at a more balanced approach to the recruiting trail.

Nevertheless, this is a huge get for the Duke Blue Devils. Expect Jaemyn Brakefield to make an immediate impact.
