It goes without saying, but we are about to say it anyway, this is a monster get for John Calipari. That being said, and we said it, Calipari is known as a coach who can land quality players on the recruiting trail. It's not exactly shocking that he was able to pull this off.
As for the insanely talented Devin Askew, not only do all reputable recruiting service outlets have the young man pegged as a five-star caliber player, but most tend to agree he's one of the 10 or so best players in the entire 2021 college basketball recruiting cycle.
Louisville, Kentucky, Kansas and a whole bunch of other programs were also chasing after the young man's services.
Nevertheless, the Kentucky Wildcats are bringing in yet another five-star. In turn, Big Blue Nation will certainly be thrilled to have a kid of this caliber on the roster when he hits campus in a couple of years.
