There are still multiple NFL franchises searching for their new head coach. Luckily for the Chicago Bears, they've already found the man for the job in Matt Eberflus. However, many believed finding an offensive-minded leader would have been the preferred route, as the team needs to prioritize developing Justin Fields. We go over some candidates that might have been better as the Bears head coach.

Right now, Chicago seems to be doing alright, as the front office hired Luke Getsy as the offensive coordinator. Although Eberflus is a defensive-minded head coach, the Bears have found a solid coordinator to help develop Fields. This franchise is likely in good hands, but three coaching candidates stand out as more exciting hires.

Considering how much help the offense needs, in terms of play-calling, it's important that Getsy gets the job done. If not, the fan base will be questioning the decision-making of the front office in general. Many could be left wondering if Matt Eberflus was the right hire for the Bears as well.

With that said, here are three Bears head coach candidates they should have hired instead.

Bears Head Coach Candidates Better Than Matt Eberflus

3. Nathaniel Hackett

Nathaniel Hackett took the Denver Broncos job quickly, so it's unlikely the Bears could have landed him. Even so, had Chicago been more swift in their head coaching search, Hackett would have made an excellent coach for this franchise. He's proven to be a reliable play-caller and has experience working with Aaron Rodgers.

Both of those facts would have been massive for Justin Fields' development. Luckily, the Bears hired Luke Getsy who also has experience working with Rodgers. Regardless, there is no question that Hackett would have been a brilliant hire for this team.

2. Eric Bieniemy

Erick Bieniemy is busy coaching the Kansas City Chiefs right now, but he still remains one of the top candidates available. The Bears likely wanted to bring in Eberflus as soon as possible and didn't have the patience to wait until Kansas City finished their season. Regardless, that patience could have paid off, as Bieniemy has all of the potential in the world to be a great coach.

He's proven to be a phenomenal offensive coordinator, working as Andy Reid's ultimate sidekick. For whatever reason, Bieniemy hasn't been hired as a head coach yet and would have been a fantastic hire for the Bears. His experience developing Patrick Mahomes could have been the exact type of leadership Justin Fields needed to become a superstar quarterback.

1. Brian Daboll

At the end of the day, the Bears opted to hire Matt Eberflus instead of Brian Daboll. The former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator was at the top of the list for many teams and somehow the New York Giants reeled him in. Daboll has proven to be one of the league's best play-callers, while his track history developing quarterbacks cannot be ignored.

Based on how he's helped Josh Allen reach his full potential, many believed Brian Daboll would have been a great fit in Chicago. The Bears have a solid defense but need an upgrade in play-calling. Maybe Matt Eberflus and Luke Getsy can get the job done. However, if they fail, Bears fans will be left asking “What if?” in regards to the franchise's decision to not hire Daboll.
