Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is one of the most outspoken personalities in the NBA. Cuban has been openly talking about many topics, and the last one he tackled was ‘tanking.'

The Mavs finished last season with one of the worst records in the Western Conference. Cuban later admitted that they were trying to do just that. Those comments did not sit well with NBA commissioner Adam Silver. Silver spoke at the NBA Board of Governors press conference, and he mentioned Cuban and his comments.

“Yes, it's not what you want to hear as commissioner,” Silver said. “I will say that Mark has a long track record of being provocative, and it was something that we spoke to him directly about. I think he acknowledged it was a poor choice of words. When we looked at what was actually happening on the floor, which is most important to me, there was no indication whatsoever that his players were intentionally losing games. So we were satisfied with that, and again, and we moved on.”

Silver has been openly stating that all the teams that are constantly losing are ‘rebuilding', denying that there is tanking in the NBA. However, there are glaring examples of purposely losing in the NBA, and Cuban just said what was obvious to everyone.
