This upcoming Air Jordan 1 High OG will be a women's release and will pay homage to Michael Jordan's alma mater and the Wright Brothers. Hailing from Dayton, Ohio, Orville and Wilbur Wright were the first people to take flight in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, proving human flight was possible. Michael Jordan also made human flight look possible for the first time on the North Carolina Tar Heels basketball team when he became a household name.

With a nickname like “Jumpman” and a brand that is so synonymous with soaring through the air, it's no surprise that this upcoming colorway makes sense for a Michael Jordan sneaker. With hits of Carolina blue and nods to old airplane pilots, the Air Jordan 1 “First in Flight” is a must-have for any sneakerhead looking to elevate their summer rotation.

The Air Jordan 1 High OG features original tooling for the version of this sneaker worn by Michael Jordan in 1985. This colorway features the iconic Carolina Blue along the toebox, eyestays, laces, inner collar, and Nike Swoosh. The shoe is contrasted by deep navy blue along the collar, heel, insole, and outsole. The shoes are based in an off-white Sail color, giving these a great vintage look on-feet.

Some finer details include the golden Air Jordan flight logo along the collar, a homage to the gold pins pilots wear along their uniforms. The Nike Air tag features an addition “First in Flight” tag and the insole features unique graphics and detailing in gold, furthering the theme. All in all, this is an awesome release for the ladies and men will be clamoring to find these in their sizes as well.

The Air Jordan 1 High OG “First in Flight” will officially release on July 6, 2024 and come in women's sizing. The pair will drop on Nike SNKRS app and could be available in select Jordan Brand retailers. The shoes will come with a retail tag of $180, standard for upcoming women's retro releases.
