New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis will sit out tonight's game against the Orlando Magic with a right quad contusion, according to Justin Verrier of ESPN.

The Pelicans' talisman has been carrying the load at both ends of the floor this season, averaging 30.5 points, 11.2 rebounds, 2.9 blocks, and 1.9 steals per game.

Terrence Jones will get the bulk of the minutes at power forward, as he's done well when given ample playing time.

E'Twaun Moore will start at shooting guard, putting an end to the Buddy Hield experiment, said Gentry.

The news comes at the heels of Jrue Holiday‘s imminent comeback on Friday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Davis said he has not talked to Holiday since he's been back with the team, but is excited about his return to the court, per Verrier.

Head coach Alvin Gentry said on Tuesday Holiday wouldn't play 35 minutes in his first game back. He said his minutes regulation “will be based on feel.”
