The Brooklyn Nets’ projected starting point guard Jeremy Lin is not leaving any stones unturned as he takes on a bigger responsibility with his new team.

After finding his way back to the state where he first made a name for himself in the NBA, the 6’3” guard is looking to revisit the zone that he was in during the “Linsanity” craze.

In his website, Lin posted an encouraging message to Nets fans.

“So this summer, my number 1 priority by far is my jump shot. Working on all types of jump shots: catch-and-shoot 3's, off-the-dribble 3's, mid-range jumpers, iso jumpers. I've always had a knack for attacking the rim, finishing or getting to the free throw line, but if I am able to really consistently hit shots from the outside, it would take my game to a whole new level.”

“I've changed my form, brought my release lower and made the motion smoother in hopes of making it more consistent, creating a quicker release and using less energy so on nights when I'm tired I can still shoot it well. I've also been working on my floaters and change of pace game because as I get older, I will rely less and less on my athleticism.”

Lin has averaged double-figures in scoring over the past five years, but the one thing where he has been consistent throughout that period is his inconsistent shooting. From 2011 to 2016, his field goal shooting has never hit the 45% mark. He shot even worse during his rookie season although he was used very sparingly in Golden State.

He will get more shots in Brooklyn, making this offseason work very wise and timely for Jeremy Lin.
