Cale Makar is already a legend in the Colorado Avalanche history after winning both the Stanley Cup with the Avs and the Conn Smythe Award as the MVP of the playoffs all in one go in 2022. Speaking of legend, a real one just shared an appreciative message to Makar after his unforgettable campaign. We are talking about one of the greatest ever to lace up a pair of skates in the form of former Boston Bruins defenseman and hockey Hall of Famer Bobby Orr.

Makar made life hard for every team that crossed paths with the Avalanche in the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs. His elite two-way play was indispensable for Colorado during their Cup run. He even led the Avs in the postseason in points with 29, thanks to eight goals and 21 assists. Makar spearheaded the Avalanche's blue line that featured the likes of Devon Toews, Bowen Byram, Jack Johnson, and Josh Manson which wreaked havoc defensively and helped Colorado in a big way in winning the possession battle for nearly all their games in the playoffs.

The Avalanche, who won their first Stanley Cup in over 20 years by beating the Tampa Bay Lightning in six games of the NHL championship series, fly back to Mile High City for what should be a wild celebration party.
