Things are looking bad for what was supposedly a highly anticipated game which turned out to be one of the worst games. Battlefield 2042 received massive negative reviews since its launch and players don’t even want to play the game. Because of this, there are rumors about EA considering making Battlefield 2042 free-to-play.

According to gaming insider Tom Henderson, EA is very disappointed with Battlefield 2042’s sales performance. He also mentioned that the publishers are exploring their options on how they could boost the game’s player base. One of these options could be the possibility of turning Battlefield 2042 into a free-to-play game. However, chances of the game becoming free-to-play are low considering that it’s still at full price in stores. EA’s best bet right now is to either package Battlefield 2042 in either the Xbox Game Pass or EA Play. They could also use a page out of Krafton’s book, making PUBG free-to-play with a subtle paywall.

Battlefield 2042 sales are doing really bad at the moment. This is due to a massive number of negative reviews posted about the game. Because of these negative remarks, players are now refraining from even giving Battlefield 2042 a chance. According to the majority of those reviews, the game’s current state is unplayable and too broken. Critics mentioned issues such as bullet accuracy issues, hitbox issues, numerous bugs, and faulty performances. However, EA has already planned to roll out major fixes in the near future. This could be opening that Battlefield 2042 needs to regain the player count. Sad to say, the damage has already been done and we don’t know if EA can pull off a full revival. We’ll just have to wait for EA’s next move for Battlefield 2042.
