The Baylor Bears just struck big on the recruiting front, landing a commitment from star shooting guard Keyonte George, according to Brandon Jenkins of 247Sports.

George is the top 2022 shooting guard and the No. 3 overall prospect in the 247Sports rankings. The youngster revealed why he chose Scott Drew and Baylor:

“The reason for me picking Baylor was that it just felt like home,” says George. “The way they are so locked into the game of basketball stood out even more. The coaching staff really cares to develop their guys to reach the goal they want to reach and that really stood out.”

The five-star shooting guard is from Texas and will be following in the footsteps of several stars who just left Baylor for the NBA. George chose the Bears over Kansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma State and Texas.

Baylor won the last national championship behind stars Davion Mitchell and Jared Butler, with a ferocious defense to boot. Even though the Bears have lost a lot of talent, Drew is still bringing in plenty more to replace it.

The 2021 recruiting class ranks No. 14 in the country, per 247Sports, and now Baylor just got a commit from one of the very best players in the country. Keyonte George joins Dillon Hunter in the Bears' 2022 recruiting class. There will surely be more commits to come.
