Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy has been in hot water over the last few days after reports emerged that he could be fired after Thursday's Thanksgiving game against the winless Detroit Lions.

However, Bears chairman George McCaskey shut that notion down on Wednesday. Per the Chicago-Sun Times, McCaskey informed the team on Wednesday that all the rumors swirling about Nagy getting canned are untrue.

There was some speculation on Tuesday that Nagy had possibly already accepted his fate with the Bears after he canceled team meetings early and refused to discuss the reports of his potential firing with the players and coaches. But, with McCaskey publically saying this, it's pretty clear it won't be happening this week, at least.

The Bears are in absolute shambles, losing three straight and sitting at 3-7 on the season. Just about everyone wants Nagy gone, evident by the “Fire Nagy” chants that made their way around Soldier Field on Sunday when they lost to the Baltimore Ravens.

Nagy even heard those same remarks at a local high school game where his son was playing. Needless to say, Chicago fans are cold-blooded. A change seems like it needs to be made because the Bears are showing absolutely no progression under the 43-year-old. But, it appears that won't take place after Thursday's contest.

If the organization continues to spiral downward this season though, it's almost certain he will be relieved of his duties.
