The Chicago Bears take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football. It should be a great game as both teams search for a win to stay alive in the playoff race. For Chicago, it sounds like they'll be regaining an advantage in the run game with the recent news of David Montgomery's injury update.

According to Ian Rapoport, “the Bears are expected to activate RB David Montgomery off Injured Reserve to play tonight.” This is great news for Chicago, as they'll need all the help they can get against a tough Steelers defense.

The Bears rushing attack has been solid without their star running back, as Khalil Herbert has been a nice surprise. Even so, Chicago will gladly welcome David Montgomery back to the lineup for Monday Night Football.

Things might be turning in Chicago's favor. Justin Fields looked incredible in Week 9 against the San Francisco 49ers, despite losing the game. However, the run game should be in full effect as Montgomery and Herbert can provide a solid one-two punch out of the backfield. If the Steelers aren't careful, they could be caught off guard.

Before falling ton injury, Montgomery was having a decent season. In Weeks 1-4, the Bears starting running back recorded 309 rushing yards and three touchdowns off of 69 carries. That's good for a 4.5 yards per carry average, which is a great number for any running back.

The Bears have to work out some kinks, but David Montgomery's return can't go unnoticed. This only helps the offense in general and Justin Fields will have an improved rushing game to ease any pressure off of him. Look for Chicago to be fired up as they attempt to upset the Steelers in Pittsburgh on Monday Night.
