Chicago Bears rookie Justin Fields saw limited snaps in the team's 34-14 Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football, though he did score a rushing touchdown. With the Bears facing a softer Cincinnati Bengals defense in Week 2, they're planning on getting Fields on the field more.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport detailed Chicago's plan on Sunday morning. The Bears phenom is apparently killing it in practice with mind-blowing plays:

Rapoport describes the Bears as “head over heels” in love with Fields, which is why they want to get him more reps.

Of course, you have to wonder why they just don't start Fields over Andy Dalton, but Chicago seems committed to giving Dalton a fair shot while bringing along the rookie slowly. Dalton had a so-so game against the Rams, throwing an awful interception in the end zone on the first possession and then game managing the rest of the night.

The Bears' game plan was extremely conservative against the Rams, with zero throws downfield against Jalen Ramsey and Co. Against the Bengals, Chicago's offense needs to open things up, whether it's Dalton or Fields under center. They have some talented weapons on offense, but it's hard to make an impact if there are no attempts to push the ball down the field.
