Despite winning his first NBA title, Golden State Warriors star forward Kevin Durant has continued to go at his critics.

This has only ramped up with the recent situation on social media centered around his decision to respond to those bashing him for leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder on Twitter before forgetting to change his account.

With that in mind, former Pistons great Ben Wallace weighed in defense of Durant during an appearance on ESPN's “The Jump.”

“I don't KD really has to defend his reason for leaving. Once you leave and the very next year you win an NBA championship and are the MVP of the Finals you don't have to defend your decision to leave. But, you just have to know with the social media nowadays, ain't no secrets.”

The fact that Durant won an NBA title in his first season leaving the Thunder should provide him with all the validation that he needs to show his critics. Not only did he finally earn a championship, but he was named the NBA Finals MVP in the process.

Although Durant has reached the mountaintop in his career, he has to learn that there are always going to be naysayers regardless of what he does on the basketball court. There just has to be stronger self-control of taking himself down to their level, which he should instead be using the criticism as fuel for motivation.

That said, this is something that Durant will likely learn from on how to better handle situations like this moving forward.
