Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal will sit out of tonight's game against the Philadelphia 76ers, according to Candace Buckner of the Washington Post.

Sheldon McClellan will start in his place and next to point guard John Wall, who could see a back-to-back opportunity next game if he gets through this one unscathed. The All-Star point guard will have his minutes monitored tonight.

McClellan was a bright spot for the team, scoring 15 points in a very effective 5-of-9 shooting, including a three-pointer and a 4-of-5 mark from the free-throw line in 35 minutes of action.

Beal is one of many players in the league dealing with hamstring injuries along the likes of Jeremy Lin and Rodney Stuckey. The hamstring muscle is a tricky one to heal because the strain can come back if it's not left to heal properly and fully. The Wizards have been trying to take the careful approach with Beal, as a re-injury can be even more costly.

Head coach Scott Brooks also noted that rookie Danuel House was sent to the team's D-League affiliate Delaware 87ers. He will play two games there and be with the team for four to five days before returning.
