Ronald Acuna Jr is looking for a strong 2023 season after dealing with injuries over the past few years. It is understood that the Atlanta Braves' outfielder features immense power, but he's also flashed his impressive speed and stolen base prowess early in 2023. Acuna Jr swiped two more bases on Saturday against the Houston Astros, his ninth and 10th steals of the season, which places him first in MLB in that category, per David O'Brien.

Ronald Acuna Jr hasn't played in more than 120 games in a season since 2019, when he finished fifth in MVP voting. If he can stay healthy in 2023, Acuna Jr will likely make a serious run at the MVP award. And if he can continue to steal bases at a high rate, it will be a useful tool for the Braves.

It should be noted that Acuna Jr's aggressiveness on the base paths likely won't surprise many people around the MLB world. In fact, he was projected to lead the league in stolen bases prior to the 2023 campaign. Acuna Jr led the league in steals during that tremendous 2019 season with a mark of 37, falling just short of a 40-40 campaign after blasting 41 home runs.

In addition to his 10 steals in 2023, Ronald Acuna Jr has also clubbed three homers for the Braves. He could be a 40-40 candidate this year, again, if he's able to stay on the field. Whether he reaches that mark or not, he's in line for a big year as Atlanta looks to defend their National League East crown.
