Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski got congratulated by their former team, the New England Patriots, shortly after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won Super Bowl LV over the Kansas City Chiefs, 31-9, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on Sunday.

The Patriots' official Twitter account acknowledged the NFL's GOAT, which just happens to be their ex-quarterback, Brady.

The Patriots also offered a rather hilarious reminder to their former superstar tight end to be extra careful with the much-coveted Vince Lombardi trophy this time around. Gronk, after all, left a permanent dent on the Patriots' Super Bowl LIII trophy after messing around with it.

Brady, of course, spent 20 seasons with the Patriots before shockingly accepting a deal to play for the Buccaneers last year. He is now a seven-time Super Bowl champion, winning his first championship wearing a different jersey on Sunday.

The winningest quarterback in NFL history convinced Gronkowski to come out of retirement to join him. That proved to be a wise decision as the five-time Pro Bowl member connected with Brady for two quick touchdowns in the first half versus the Chiefs to set the tone. Gronkowski is now a four-time Super Bowl champion.

Entering the season, not a lot of pundits pegged that Brady would deliver a Super Bowl title to the erstwhile cellar-dwelling Buccaneers in just his first year with the team. The 43-year-old signal-caller, however, once again proved all the doubters wrong and further cemented his claim as the GOAT.

While the Patriots took flak for not re-signing Tom Brady when he hit the market last year, at least they are happy for him.
