The Georgia Bulldogs endured their worst season since 2004-05, finishing with a 6-26 overall record while shockingly losing their last 12 games in a row. With such a poor showing, it's understandable that the university would push for changes. Well, change is exactly what has happened, as expected, as head coach Tom Crean has been fired, initially reported by Pete Thamel of ESPN.

Per Thamel, Georgia is beginning the process to part ways with head coach Tom Crean after their disappointing season. The school has informed Crean of their plans. The head coach is due to be paid $3.2 million, per his contract.

Crean was named head coach of the Bulldogs in 2018 after spending his time at Indiana University from 2008 to 2017. He compiled a 47-75 record at Georgia, along with a 15-57 record in SEC play. These less-than-stellar results are certainly worthy of being let go, though Crean can at least take pleasure in the fact that he'll be walking away with a fair chunk of change for his troubles.

Georgia hasn't traditionally been a basketball powerhouse, with just three NCAA Tournament appearances in the last 15 years. However, the fact that the team failed to even match the level of play under former head coach Mark Fox didn't bode well for Crean's status.

Goergia will now be in the market for a new head coach.
