Chicago Bulls point guard Kris Dunn and power forward Bobby Portis are both recovering from their respective knee injuries. Although both are making progress from sprained MCLs, it may be a while before they see the court.

According to Malika Andrews of ESPN, Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg stated that Portis and Dunn felt “okay” during non-contact activities during Tuesday's practice. Hoiberg also said:

“They are still a ways away. We are not going to get too far ahead of ourselves with those guys, being injuries to their knees.”

Hoiberg added that Wednesday's workouts would be “a lot more strenuous than the non-contact stuff yesterday.”

Dunn and Portis are both young and talented potential studs for the Bulls, so it's smart that they are not rushing them back until full health. The Bulls could be a dangerous force in the future once some of these young players develop further. Chicago is full of potential with Dunn, Portis, Lauri Markkanen, Zach LaVine and Wendell Carter Jr. part of an exciting young core.

While Chicago has a lot of potential for the future, the team is struggling to the tune of a 5-16 record this season thanks to not only these injuries, but injuries to Lauri Markkanen and Denzel Valentine as well. Markkanen should be back in the next week or so, with Dunn and Portis following in the coming weeks. The Bulls will have a better idea of where they stand when that happens.
