The Arizona Cardinals are hoping for better things after finishing with just a 4-13 record last season. It didn't help that Kyler Murray was out with an injury, as the team struggled throughout the year. However, it sounds like the star quarterback is having a stellar offseason and it could have the fanbase thinking playoffs.

With the Cardinals wrapping up minicamp, Kyler Murray couldn't help but feel confident about what's ahead, according to John Weinfuss of ESPN. After missing minicamp last year, Murray claims he's having one of the best offseasons of his career so far.

“I want to say it's felt like one of the best offseasons I've had in a long time. Just being able to, one, be healthy, and then, two, be in touch with the guys and actually be a part of it. Obviously, last year, being on the side, working with [senior reconditioning coordinator] Buddy [Morris] every day, having to watch, having to be in meetings, and not really being able to get a feel for anything, it just makes a difference. It makes a difference when I'm out there and we're all getting better together, so not only on the field but off the field. It's a good offseason.”

Even wide receiver, Michael Wilson, is noticing a difference with Kyler Murray on the field. Overall, it sounds like the veteran quarterback is taking the reigns as a leader for this team.

“I mean, night and day. Having him out there, he is definitely the leader of the team and the one that makes this engine go, and so to have your leader out there makes the world of difference.”

Murray suffered an ACL injury in the late portion of the 2022-23 season. It kept him sidelined throughout most of the following season. However, he did return to the Cardinals lineup right around the midway mark of the 2023-24 season. He finished last year with 1,799 passing yards, 244 rushing yards, 13 total touchdowns, and five interceptions through eight games.

With Kyler Murray healthy and available for the start of the season, the Cardinals have a chance to play much better than they did last year. He's proven to be a reliable quarterback for this franchise as he can get it done through the air and the ground. But he's not the only reason why Arizona should be optimistic about next season.

The Cardinals selected Marvin Harrison Jr. with the fourth overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. He's deemed one of, if not, the best wide receiver prospect to ever enter the league. We've already seen what Kyler Murray can do with a superstar wide receiver, as he connected with DeAndre Hopkins often. So, we can only imagine what this passing attack is going to look like with Murray throwing to Harrison.

With that said, the defense could be a liability. But if they can show steady improvement throughout the regular season they could have it figured out ahead of the playoffs. Cardinals fans should be excited about the future of this franchise, as the front office is building a solid roster around their star quarterback.
