The Boston Celtics were blown out in Game 2 by the Warriors. There was no question that Golden State out-performed them. However, there were a number of questionable calls made by the refs throughout the game. Did those calls have major implications for the result of this specific game? Maybe, maybe not. But Barstool's Dave Portnoy, who happens to be a Celtics super-fan, called out both Draymond Green and the refs following the conclusion of the game.

I’m not joking Draymond committed 29 fouls last night. I’m surprised Williams, White and Horford didn’t all get called for fouls here. Again it prob didn’t matter but the refs were atrocious last night. Draymond was out of control

Portnoy added the following statement in regards to the non-foul calls:

And they weren’t cheapies. They were aggressive clear fouls. 2 of them the Celtics got called for the foul

So is Dave Portnoy right in his assessment? Or is this a case of being a biased Celtics supporter?

Fans of both sides could have made realistic arguments that the refs were poor in this game. In fact, fans can make that argument in almost every game. Being an NBA referee is an incredibly difficult job. Getting every single call right simply is not going to happen.

On the other hand, the refs can't afford to miss blatant foul/non-foul calls. So Portnoy has a case to be made.

The Celtics will aim to rebound against Draymond Green and the Warriors in Game 3 at the TD Garden in Boston.
