This year's edition of the free agency frenzy has been anything but boring. It has been packed by some earth-shattering turn of events that have shaken up the landscape of the NBA as we know it. One such development that definitely does not fall in the above category is the recent report pertaining to the Boston Celtics officially signing 6-foot-6 guard Max Strus to a two-way deal. NBA insider Keith Smith reports via Twitter.

The Celtics have had their share of the fun in this summer's free agency, as they themselves have gone through some franchise-altering moves of late. They lost arguably their two biggest stars in Kyrie Irving and Al Horford, who decided to sign with the Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers, respectively, as unrestricted free agents. The C's, however, did make up for these losses by signing the new face of their franchise in former Charlotte Hornets superstar point guard Kemba Walker.

While the recent development involving former DePaul standout Max Strus is nowhere as important as the Walker signing, the addition of the 23-year-old still holds some significance for the franchise. Strus averaged 20.1 points (on 42.9 percent shooting), 3.2 three-pointers, 5.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.5 blocks as a stat-sheet stuffing guard in his sophomore year with DePaul last season.

By recently signing a two-way deal with Boston, Strus is not expected to hold a significant role for the team in the coming season, and will likely spend most of his time with the Celtics' G League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws.
