The Boston Celtics paid homage to fallen Massachusetts native Terrence Clarke on Tuesday prior to tip-off of their matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Clarke, who passed away last week in a tragic car accident was born and raised in Dorchester, Boston and it was only fitting for the Celtics to honor him shortly after his untimely passing.

Here's a clip of Boston's touching pre-game gesture (h/t ClutchPoints on Twitter):

Clarke died on April 22 after the 19-year-old was involved in a vehicular accident. Clarke was leaving practice when he met the accident and he reportedly passed away as he was being rushed to a nearby hospital.

Clarke, who spent last season with the Kentucky Wildcats, recently declared for the NBA Draft. As a native of Boston, he had dreams of joining the Celtics to team up with a couple of his idols in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

As for the Celtics, they faced off against a struggling Thunder side in the TD Garden on Tuesday. Boston had lost their previous two games and was in dire need of a win against an OKC team, who themselves were coming off a league-worst 14-game losing run. A loss for the Celtics here would have been catastrophic.
