Home fans watching at the TD Garden made it clear they are pretty upset with how the Boston Celtics performed in the first half against the Houston Rockets.

At the end of the first half, the Beantown team was 22 points behind Houston, 65-43.

This isn't the first time that the Boston crowd has booed the home team this season. In fact, this is starting to happen more frequently, as the Celtics haven't been playing well all year long.

All-Star guard Kyrie Irving is the only bright spot for the Celtics, scoring 14 points in the first half. Al Horford had 10 markers in the first 24 minutes of play, but it was only Irving who is carrying the offensive load.

Second-year forward Jayson Tatum, in fact, made only five points in the first half, while Jaylen Brown, Terry Rozier and Marcus Smart have been disappointing as well.

The Celtics' struggles are a cause for concern, as they entered the season as one of the favorites to dethrone the two-time defending champions Golden State Warriors. However, they haven't shown enough consistency, and are instead looking at a possible first round exit heading into the playoffs.

To sum it up, this has been a disappointing year for Boston and its fans, but it's not over yet. The core that led the Celtics to the Eastern Conference Finals last year is still intact. Regular season records won't matter come postseason.

But the Celtics will need some type of momentum heading there.
