Now that he's past the “hater” phase, Boston Celtics Gordon Hayward has become a Fortnite pro. In fact, the former Horizon League Player of the Year says he's ready to take any athlete in a battle royale setting.

According to a report from Alysha Tsuji of For The Win and USA Today, Hayward went from hating the popular video game to being completely addicted. Now, with a lot more experience under his belt, he's ready to challenge his NBA brothers.

“Now I’m confident that I could beat any athlete in the world,” Hayward wrote in a tweet. “Who’s up for the challenge?”

Earlier this summer, a video of Hayward playing Fortnite began circulating on social media. In the clip, Hayward's wife, Robyn, placed their daughter on his lap while he was in the heat of battle. It seems this is Robyn's way of dropping a hint, as they say.

“The games are really fast too,” Hayward said via USA Today. “So when Robyn is yelling up the stairs that it’s time for dinner, I know that I can play one more and then go down to eat. She won’t get too mad.

“Sometimes when she’s ready for me to be done, she’ll bring the girls in,” Hayward continued. “There was a thing that went viral where I was streaming for HyperX and she brought Charlie in, which was pretty funny.

“That’s one of her favorite ways of reminding me that I’m a dad—just bringing one of the girls up and drops them on my lap like, “Hey. You have a couple of kids here. It’s time to get off!”

Loads of other NBA players have a hankering for Fortnite, just as Hayward does. However, which of them will step up to his challenge remains to be seen.
