The Boston Celtics are presently hosting the Dallas Mavericks for Game 2, and they surely want to add another win at home. This was seen in Jaylen Brown's pregame speech, where the wingman spoke about stepping up in the face of adversity.

“Hey, no hesitation out there!” Brown told his team during warmups. “Do what we do! Just breathe — when the adversity comes, that's when we step up!”

Brown has been having himself a postseason lately. Throughout the past 15 games, the 27-year-old has averaged 24.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. In the second game of the Eastern Conference Finals, Brown scored 40 points against the Indiana Pacers. He was also big for the team during the finals opener against the Dallas Mavericks, tallying 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field.

Game 2 so far

As for the current game, the Celtics haven't shot well so far, but the game is still close. This is just another reminder of how deep this Boston team is. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have yet to pile up the points, but the former's pregame speech seemed to have an effect on the team's other players.

Jrue Holiday leads the team in scoring, and he's been making plenty of other quality plays as well. Kristaps Porzingis is  already in double-digits, despite limited shot attempts. Nevertheless, the TD Garden still waits for the Celtics to explode offensively.

A door for redemption opens

Going back to Brown, he's been on this stage before. That 2022 finals loss continues to haunt many Boston fans, and it's not hard to imagine that the case is so for the players too. Besides Brown, Jayson Tatum, Al Horford, Derrick White, Sam Hauser, Payton Pritchard, and Luke Kornet were there to experience the heartbreak two years ago.

Now, the Celtics have a chance at redemption, and it's also an opportunity for most of the roster to win their first championship. Out of everyone on the team, only Jrue Holiday has a ring.

And bluntly speaking, Boston is expected to win it all. The front office has done an impressive job of building a formidable group of players. The Celtics finished the regular season with the best record, and the Beantown community expects nothing less than Banner 18 this year.
