Ever since Boston Celtics swingman Jayson Tatum first burst onto the NBA scene in 2017, there has been a running a gag online that he is still just 19 years old.

The hilarious quip started back in his rookie season when rabid Celtics fans pointed out his age almost every time he made an amazing play or had a phenomenal game.

With plenty of idle time during the worldwide quarantine period due to the coronavirus pandemic, Tatum opened the floor for questions from his Twitter followers. One user couldn't resist the idea of asking the 6-foot-8 wing what it feels like to remain 19 for so long.

Here's Tatum's short but hilarious response.

Just to be clear, Tatum is now 22 years old and in his third season in Beantown. Still, that doesn't stop social media users from using the punchline in the comment section of his highlights.

Hilarity aside, the former Duke Blue Devil did have an impressive rookie season in 2017-18. Tatum finished third in the Rookie of the Year voting that year behind now fellow All-Stars Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers and Donovan Micthell of the Utah Jazz.

Tatum even helped the Celtics in their deep playoff run that year and even had a memorable poster slam over LeBron James in their Eastern Conference Finals series against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Celtics star did somehow regress in his sophomore year but has bounced back nicely this season. Tatum earned himself a well-deserved All-Star nod for the first time in his young career after averages of 23.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.4 steals in 59 games prior to the league suspension.
