On Wednesday night, the Boston Celtics will serve as hosts to the Dallas Mavericks, but it sounds like they'll be doing so without the services of forward Marcus Morris.

According to a report from Bill Doyle of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, the Celtics have elected to hold Morris out of Wednesday night's game due to knee rehabilitation. With Morris out of the lineup, Celtics head coach Brad Stevens will likely give Aron Baynes the starting nod. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown will probably see their minutes increase as well.

Morris, now 28 years of age, missed the first eight games of this season with soreness in the same knee. He's still in the process of recovering, so it's probably safe to say that the Celtics are playing it safe here.

In his 15 games played for the Celtics this season, Morris has turned in averages of 12.6 points on 42.3 percent shooting from the field (34.5 percent from beyond the arc), 5.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists — all while knocking down 84.4 percent of his free-throws.

After Monday night's 111-100 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, the Celtics are riding a three-game winning streak. They're also sat atop the Eastern Conference standings with a 21-4 overall record. Let's see if they can keep their momentum rolling. Tip-off for Wednesday night's game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. NBCSB and Fox Sports Southwest will have live broadcast coverage.
