It was an exhilarating duel between the future faces of their current franchises, one that earned the praise of a team legend.
Paul Pierce tweeted his reaction to the Tatum-Antetokounmpo duel, comparing it to one of his games against The King, LeBron James. The Truth is referencing the Celtics' close-out Game 7 against James' Cavaliers in 2008. That's some high praise from an all-time great of the Boston franchise!

Questionable nicknaming choices asideā¦ this Tatum-Antetokounmpo duel is a preview of the Eastern Conference's future superstars. The physical specimen in Antetokounmpo going up against a top-tier scorer like Tatum, it's something to behold. The Celtics and the Bucks are destined to have more epic duels like this in the playoffs.
Their current series has been a back-and-forth affair, characterized by intense defense from both sides. The Celtics and the Bucks sport two of the best defenses in the league. That grit-and-grind affair showed throughout the entire series. Both teams have had to scratch and claw their way to victories in the series, which is already going the distance.
Howeverā¦ for one game, we saw two superstar-caliber players transcend defenses and destroy their opponents. For every Giannis slam, there was a Tatum bucket to keep the Celtics up top. If this series is any indication, both teams will absolutely loathe seeing each other in the playoffs.
