Boston Celtics rookie Tacko Fall made just his second appearance of the season on Friday, as he logged a career-high four and a half minutes of play in a 114-93 victory over the Detroit Pistons. In his brief cameo, the 7-foot-5 big man was able to score five points (also a career-high), while also adding a couple of rebounds, a block, and two turnovers in a rare appearance for the C's.

The 24-year-old spoke about the progress he has made thus far this season, saying that it has been quite a journey for him.

“A long way, and I have a long way to go,” Fall said, via Celtics insider Chris Forsberg. “Still have to stay the course. Trust in the plan they have for me and things will work out. … I have so much potential. I don’t want to be average. Keep working.”

Early on, Fall failed to crack head coach Brad Stevens' rotation, which led to a spell with Boston's G League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws. His strong play was rewarded by a recent call up to the big league, and on Friday, he was finally able to take the floor for Boston nearly two months after his debut on October 26.

As he said above, Fall is putting his faith in the process, and is just keeping his head up through it all. He may not be in the exact position he dreams of right now, but surely, if keeps putting the work in, then he should get his shot sooner rather than later.
