The LA Clippers have pulled off a fantastic season thus far. Without Kawhi Leonard and Paul George for most of the season, the team has had to rely on Reggie Jackson and Marcus Morris to lead them. The two have remained level-headed and been fantastic leaders these last few months, but frustrations seem to have boiled over a bit of late.

The Clippers dropped their home game against the Toronto Raptors, but not before some dramatics took center stage.

With 18 seconds on the game clock and six seconds on the shot clock in a 101-100 game, Scottie Barnes made a pass from the free throw arc to right corner to teammate Fred VanVleet. The pass, however, was deflected by a recovering Terance Mann. VanVleet was able to get a hand on the ball, and Mann's momentum carried him into VanVleet, who was falling out of bounds.

The entire arena thought an out of bounds call was going to be called on VanVleet, which would've given the Clippers, who were trailing by a point, a chance to go for the tie or the win in regulation.

Instead, a loose ball foul was called on Terance Mann, turning the entire Clippers bench into a frenzy.

Ultimately, VanVleet missed a couple of free throws, which left the door open for the Clippers to hit a potential game-tying shot. Marcus Morris missed the game-tying three-pointer short, and Toronto went on to win.

After the game, Reggie Jackson entered the postgame press conference room with something on his mind. Jackson, who has been a fantastic interview all season long, making time for media members while being incredibly forthcoming, immediately went after the officiating.

“Reggie, two things seemed to be keys in this game,” a reporter started.”

“Who, Natalie Sago?” Reggie interrupted.

“Two things that seemed to stand out–”

Who, Natalie Sago?

Jackson continued a few more times before being asked about how the team could've won on Saturday.

“We were doing everything we could. We tried. Their best player made it difficult on us tonight. Nat is great. Nat played amazing. That was difficult for us. We had to try to keep our hands back, try to keep people off the glass, and they just kept coming. Hats off to her and hats off to them.”

The Clippers never recovered from this call, and went on to lose, 103-100.

After Jackson, Terance Mann came to the podium, saying it was tough to mentally re-collect himself and some of his teammates following the call that went against them.

“It’s not easy,” Terance Mann said after Reggie Jackson. “Just a call like that, it’s not easy to mentally stay in the moment. I mean, you seen it, everybody’s seen it so it’s nothing I can do or anyone can do. It just sucks. I guess you just gotta try and snap back. He did miss a free throw for us and we did have a chance to rebound that and be down two, but um… I ain’t wanna talk about that.”

The Clippers hold the fourth toughest remaining strength of schedule, behind only the Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Los Angeles Lakers. At this point, the Clippers are essentially locked into the eighth seed unless something drastic happen.

Optimism albeit fading that Paul George (elbow) and Norman Powell (foot) can return from their respective injuries. Norman Powell recently shed his walking boot, while Paul George has returned to shooting with his right arm.
