ConcernedApe's new game is still under wraps, but he gave full confirmation during the live stream of Stardew Valley Cup.

Stardew Valley version 1.6 will be taking a backseat for the time being. ConcernedApe talked about the development of his unannounced new game during the live stream. Speaking with Zach “UnsurpassableZ” Hartman on Twitch, ConcernedApe says:

“I'm not saying there's going to be another Stardew Valley update. I don't even know at this point. Right now I am focused on my next game. So, we'll see.”

However, when pressed further, he didn't give any more details about his new game.

“I may announce it fairly soon, what it is – no-one knows at this point. What I will say is it's another pixel art game, a top-down perspective similar to Stardew Valley. And in some ways it is kind of similar to Stardew Valley, but it's not a farming game. It's something different.”

So all we know about ConcernedApe's new game is it's a pixel art game that is not a farming simulator. That doesn't really minimize the scope of things the game could end up being, but at least we know how the look and feel will be like. He did say that he's working on a new game as well, but he didn't say if he's working alone. It's likely that he is, though, but working with others isn't entirely off the books, either.
