The Alabama Crimson Tide are currently preparing for the College Football Playoffs. However, Bryce Young is having himself a night. After an impressive regular season, the young quarterback is collecting the awards, strengthening his case for the highly coveted Heisman Trophy.
On Thursday, Bryce Young took home not one, not two, but three awards for his stellar play for the Crimson Tide this year. According to ESPN Stats & Info, Young won the Maxwell Award for Player of the Year. Typically, the winner of the Maxwell Award also wins the Heisman.
Additionally, the Crimson Tide's quarterback took home the Davey O'Brien Award, which recognizes the nation's best quarterback, per the SEC Network.
The night didn't end there for Bryce Young. He was also awarded the 2021 AP Player of the Year, making him the Crimson Tide's second consecutive winner, as DeVonta Smith won this award last season.
After winning all three prestigious awards, Bryce Young's chances of winning the Heisman have drastically increased. If he does take home the prestigious award, it would mean the Crimson Tide would have back-to-back Heisman winners. Alabama is an absolute monster in the College Football scene and shows no signs of ever slowing down.
Bryce Young is a highly coveted NFL prospect and he proved that in his sophomore season. He ended the year with 4,322 passing yards and 43 touchdowns. Young also had an insane 43-4 touchdown-interception ratio, making him truly elite. The Crimson Tide are in good hands as long as Young is under center.
We'll see if Young can take home the Heisman Trophy. We won't find that out until Saturday, December 11th.
