The Duke Blue Devils have landed their first commitment from the 2023 class.
Caleb Foster, arguably the top point guard in his class, pledged to Duke on Thursday, choosing the Blue Devils over Illinois, Louisville and Stanford, among others. The Oak Hill Academy product announced his commitment in an original video posted by SportsCenter, stressing his excitement to join the Blue Devils âbrotherhood.â

At 6-foot-5, 190 pounds, Foster boasts outstanding positional size with the poise, court vision and ball-handling ability needed to thrive as a full-time floor general. Not an explosive athlete, he makes up for it with three-level scoring comfort and overall feel with the ball that belie his age.
A Harrisburg, N.C. native, Foster transferred to prep powerhouse Oak Hillâalma mater of NBA luminaries like Carmelo Anthony and Rajon Rondo, among othersâin October 2020.
Duke enters the 2021-22 NCAA season with another star-studded roster, headlined by incoming freshman big man Paolo Banchero, a potential No. 1 pick in next summer's NBA draft. Legendary head coach Mike Krzyzewski announced in June that he'd retire after the coming season, paving the way for longtime assistant and former Blue Devils point guard Jon Scheyer to take the reins in Durham come 2022-23.
The Blue Devils already boast three commitments for Scheyer's debut season, including top-10 prospects Dariq Whitehead and Kyle Filipowski.
