The New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans franchise has been through a lot since joining the NBA in 2002.

Not only has the organization had to move cities during a season because of the tragic events of Hurricane Katrina, but two Hall of Fame players have requested trades from the franchise in Chris Paul and Anthony Davis.

The Hornets were the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets in 2005-06 and 2006-07. The franchise officially became the Pelicans 2013.
