Miami Heat first-year guard Kendrick Nunn was the subject of ridicule by the Memphis Grizzlies after the two teams' Orlando bubble scrimmage prior to the 2019-20 season restart.

Nunn's Heat teammate Bam Adebayo, a first-time All-Star in 2020, wore a shirt claiming Nunn is the Rookie of the Year. After an 18-point rout, the Grizzlies' social media team sprung into action to troll Nunn and the Heat — deploying the Druski meme reaction.

Memphis appears to be very ready for the Orlando bubble, with presumptive Rookie of the Year winner point guard Ja Morant putting up 22 points and 12 assists in the final tune-up game. Meanwhile, Nunn was nearly invisible compared to last year's second overall pick.

The Grizzlies and Heat also have a bit of a history intertwined given last February's NBA trade deadline deal, which sent disgruntled veteran swingman Andre Iguodala from Memphis to Miami (the former Golden State Warriors Finals MVP never suited up for the Grizzlies). In the deal, several players were exchanged between franchises, including Jae Crowder and Solomon Hill to the South Beach franchise and Justise Winslow and Dion Waiters to Grind City.

After the scrimmage, Winslow also took a jab at his former team, tweeting: “[S]quad circled that [expletive] for me.”

Ja Morant will likely earn Rookie of the Year in 2020 in spite of Kendrick Nunn's solid debut season. Besides, the NBA seeding games will no longer be considered when it comes to voting the annual NBA awards.
