Jimmy Butler clocked in at 3:30 a.m. so he could work out before the Miami Heat held their first practice of the season. Count Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star Kevin Love has someone who thinks that was all for show.

The Heat practiced at 10 a.m. As we all know, however, Butler has a world-class work ethic and likes to start training early in the morning.

“Come on man. It’s a long season,” Love said, via Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com. “I think Jimmy is an amazing player, but I think there are some things that are for show. We’ve been putting in long hours so us getting up at 3:30 and getting in there is not going to do anything for us but make us mad.”

Heat forward Meyers Leonard joined Butler in the early sessions the next day. Love has respect for Butler, but it's clear training that early in the morning isn't everyone's cup of tea.

Butler averaged 18.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists last season while shooting 46.2 percent from the field, 34.7 percent from beyond the arc and 85.5 percent from the free-throw line. He signed a four-year deal with the Heat this summer.

Butler's attitude and work ethic fits the culture of the Heat franchise.
