Yahoo Sports NBA insider Chris Haynes believes Dwyane Wade could return to the Miami Heat if they are in contention late in the upcoming season.

Wade retired from the NBA after the 2018-19 campaign ended. The Heat legend said in August he's still going to stay in shape and train with Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, causing some people to speculate that the future Hall of Famer might make a return to the league à la Michael Jordan.

“Dwyane Wade looked good last year,” Haynes told Brandon Robinson of Scoop B Radio. “I’ll say this: I think if Miami is in contention, and I don’t know that can happen without Chris Paul, but if they are in contention, I can see a scenario where they can lure Dwyane Wade back. I think if he did come back, it’d be back in Miami. I think there’s a good chance he would come out of retirement at some point.”

Wade had his farewell tour with the Heat last season. He averaged 15.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 72 games while shooting 43.3 percent from the field, 33.0 percent from beyond the arc and 70.8 percent from the free-throw line.

It would be cool to see Wade come back and play for the Heat now that his pal Jimmy Butler is in South Beach. We'll just have to wait and see if Chris Haynes' prediction comes to fruition.
