Despite a depleted lineup, the Miami Heat had no trouble trampling the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night, 103-90. The boys from South Beach were without their All-Star duo of Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, who are both nursing injuries.

But the Heat didn't miss them that much, finishing off the Thunder in the second half after a tight contest in the first two quarters.

Tyler Herro started for the second straight game for the Heat, leading the team with 26 points on 5-of-8 sniping from long range. He also added seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals in yet another impressive outing on both ends. The fast-rising guard has been so good this season, coach Erik Spoelstra couldn't help but sing praises (via ESPN):

“He's really improved. That's what he spent his summer in the weight room for. He's not an easy guy to pressure anymore.”

The 21-year-old Herro indeed worked hard on his physique in the offseason, with a photo of him with his bigger biceps even going viral on social media. All of a sudden, the guy who looked like more of a poster boy for Abercrombie & Fitch than an NBA player looked every bit of a budding All-Star.

If Herro maintains his sweltering performances, he could be a lock to claim the Most Improved Player trophy. Winning the accolade would be the greatest validation for the Heat shooter who got heavily criticized last season for his mediocre showing.
