Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler has never been one to mince his words. In an interview with Rachel Nichols on The Jump, he was his candid self, especially when asked about the team's performance.

Butler said, “Terrible. Terrible. Just terrible. Not the way that we say we want to play. Not the way we're supposed to be playing. But it's OK, because we will turn it around. And like the saying says, ‘better late than never.'

Miami has been off to a rough start, to say the least, and has a 12-17 record, which places them outside of the top eight teams in the Eastern Conference. This is certainly not what was expected of a team that put up a valiant effort against the Los Angeles Lakers in last season's Finals.

Several key Heat players, including Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro have missed games due to health issues. This has caused continuity concerns. Team chemistry is affected as several different lineups had to be rolled out by head coach Erik Spoelstra. While Jae Crowder is not a household name, his departure is being felt by the team. He brought spacing, defense, and was tough and hard-nosed, which is consistent with the Heat's identity.

Miami exceeded all expectations in their playoff Cinderella run. They were the fifth seed then and dominated the East with their scorching, outside shooting, and tenacious defense.

If the Heat stay healthy for the rest of the season, there's still a very strong possibility they get back on track, just as Jimmy Butler said.
