Jimmy Butler couldn't care less about the loss to the Denver Nuggets, but he won't let it slide how Nikola Jokic shoved his Miami Heat teammate Markieff Morris.
Late in the fourth quarter and the Nuggets leading by a huge margin, Morris fouled Jokic a bit hard while bringing the ball down to the other end. Obviously, the Serbian big man didn't like the intentional foul and shoved the Heat forward hard from the back.
Markieff was clearly hurt from the sudden shoving as he struggled to get up, with a stretcher even being brought out before he was able to stand on his own power.
While the referees were looking at the replays and assessing the punishments to be given, the cameras caught Butler fuming on the Heat's side of the court–shouting at Jokic and challenging him for a fight.
Nikola Jokic got an unsportsmanlike technical foul and was ejected. Markieff Morris was also thrown out for Flagrant 2 foul, while Jimmy Butler was assessed with a technical foul.
It's hard to blame Butler for his actions, though. What Jokic did could have injured Morris and affected his season with the Heat. Not to mention that there is little reason for the Joker to overreact considering that the Nuggets were ahead of the Heat by a wide margin at that point.
It remains to be seen what other punishments the NBA will hand on those involved, but there will certainly be consequences after everything that transpired.
