Jimmy Butler has provided some great insight as to why he believes his Miami Heat fell to the Boston Celtics on Friday in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

According to Butler, it was all about the Celtics wanting it more than they did on the evening.

“They were playing harder than we were, which we all knew,” Heat star Jimmy Butler said, via Jeff Zillgit of USA TODAY. “We've just got to correct that. That's where it starts for us. Any time anybody is playing harder than we are, we are not playing our best basketball. I think a lot of it for us comes from how hard we play, how together we play, and we've got to get back to doing that.”

Butler finished the loss with 17 points on 5-of-11 shooting, to go along with eight rebounds, eight assists, a steal, and a block in 36 minutes of action. He did not exactly have a poor performance on Friday, but as he said above, the Celtics just played harder than they did.

The duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown led the way for the C's as the pair combined for 61 points between them — more than half of their team's total tally.

The good news for the Heat here is that despite their relatively poor showing in Game 5, this contest was still well within their reach. They know what adjustments they need to make for Game 6 on Sunday, as Jimmy Butler and company are hoping to close out the series by then.
