Miami Heat forward Justise Winslow will be out of commission for the next two weeks as he continues to recover from a back injury, according to an official report from the team.

Winslow has missed quite a bit of time this season with his back ailment. The injury was initially called a “lower back strain,” and the team is hoping to re-evaluate his status once the two-week time frame is up. The former No. 10 overall pick of the Heat in 2015 was reportedly away from the team over the weekend to see a specialist.

The fact that Winslow needs more time to recover is unfortunate news. Rookie Kendrick Nunn, who had 33 points in Wednesday night's 106-100 victory over the Spurs, and veteran Goran Dragic have received the majority of the minutes at point guard. That trend will likely continue so long as Winslow is sidelined.

Winslow has made 11 appearances with the Heat this season, five of which are starts. Winslow has racked up averages of 11.3 points on 33.8 percent shooting from the field (22.2 percent from beyond the arc), 6.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 32.0 minutes per game. He is in the first year of a three-year, $39 million extension he signed with the Heat last fall.

The Heat will be back in action on Friday night, when they'll face off against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Tip-off inside Chesapeake Energy Arena is set for 8:00 p.m. ET. Both teams have won three of their last five games.
