The Heat and 76ers Game 5 bout in Miami just got a bit more interesting, as it was reported on Tuesday that Kyle Lowry is out.

Philadelphia bounced back after being down 2-0 by winning Games 3 and 4 at home. Winning on the road in Miami has been difficult for opponents this season, but the 76ers' chances improved due to this breaking news. The Heat will look for Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro to continue stepping up in Lowry's absence.

The injury has plagued Lowry throughout the Eastern Conference Semifinals. But there was growing optimism that he would be able to play in Game 5 after returning for Games 3 and 4. The Heat certainly would have benefitted from having him on the court in this 2-2 series. But his hamstring injury will ultimately keep him out for this vital affair.

The injury has limited his production during the postseason. He is averaging just over 6 points and 5 assists in under 30 minutes during the playoffs. Miami seemingly prefers that Lowry fully heals and is able to contribute at a higher level down the road rather than continue to play through the injury and not offer much in the way of production.

Entering the series, many believed that Philadelphia would be the team dealing with injury issues. Joel Embiid entered the East Semifinals dealing with an injury and his timetable was fairly unclear. But the NBA MVP runner-up is back and playing well for the Sixers. The big man scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Philadelphia's Game 4 victory.

The Heat will look to overcome Kyle Lowry's injury and get the job done in Game 5.
